Regulations
As with any major sporting event, the Race Across Series is governed by official regulations. They guarantee the safety of participants, fairness between racers and the smooth running of each event. Respecting these rules means ensuring that the ultra-distance adventure is lived in the best possible conditions, for each and every one.
Race Across Series Rules
These regulations cover the Route Race Across and Gravel GRAAALPS events.

The purpose of these Sporting Regulations is to define the rules governing participation in the event.
Participation in the event implies the express and unreserved acceptance by each competitor of these Sporting Regulations and of the General Terms and Conditions (GTC) of the A.B.E. association.
Both documents apply to the various events organized by the association.Miles Republic is a French company specializing in the creation, marketing and organization of sporting events. Miles Republic is acting on behalf of the A.B.E. association, and is responsible for the technical and commercial organization of the event.
These Competition Rules may be amended at any time and without prior notice by the Organizer up until the day of the event. The applicable version of the Competition Rules is the one posted on the eventâs website:

Race Across Series events are ultra-distance cycling events, held on open roads and in semi-autonomy.
The Organizer proposes different distances for each event, from 200 km to 2500 km.
Participants must respect the Highway Code in force in the country they are crossing.Bases are provided for participants to rest, refuel and drop off and pick up their personal bags.
Each event has specific time limits, beyond which participants are disqualified.

Each stage is a course that must be completed in its entirety by bicycle, following the GPS track provided by the Organizer.
Participants must comply with the current traffic laws.
The events are held as singles, doubles, or fours, depending on the distance.
Each participant receives a GPS beacon to track his or her progress.
The bases are accessible to participants and their companions.

Each participant must have the required equipment, which includes:
Certified helmet (CE or CSA STANDARDS, CPSC, ASTM)
Rear bike light set (2 lights), front bike light, and headlamp (rechargeable)
High-visibility vest or harness
GPS with routes
Repair kit (multi-tools, tubes, tubeless included)
Reflective strips (shrouds and forks)
A fully charged phone with the PGO number saved in favorites (+33 9 79 98 18 21 in Europe, +1 450 489 1289 in Quebec)
2 standard-size emergency blankets (per participant)
Min. 1L water and food reserve (+400 kcal)
Whistle
Waste bag
Code padlock
Eco-cup
For the 1,000 km and 2,500 km races, the following items are also required (in your size, of course):
Rain jacket or down jacket
Warm gloves
Beanie/Neck Warmer
Bivy bag
đ Recommended equipment: mattress, power bank/dynamo, warm clothing, lubricant, multi-purpose knife, cash...

Participants must be self-sufficient between two bases.
All external assistance (other than lifebases) is forbidden.
Drafting is forbidden, except between members of the same team (duo or quartet).
Participants can buy supplies from shops open to all.

A. Opening and closing
The living quarters open and close according to a schedule based on the time-controlled barriers.
Any participant who arrives after the official closing time may be disqualified, at the Organizer's discretion.
Participants who wish to continue beyond the deadline do so at their own risk.
B. Equipment
Each Basecamp offers at least:
a refreshment area,
showers and toilets,
a rest area,
a recharging area for electronic equipment.
C. Provisioning
The bases offer a range of supplies including :
hot and cold drinks,
solid food (sweet and salty),
vegetarian options.
Refreshments are strictly reserved for participants.

Two categories are defined:
Standard: road, gravel or mountain bike without assistance.
Open: any non-conventional human-powered bike (tandem, handbike, recumbent, etc.).
On a team, all members must use the same type of bike.
The Organizer may authorize an early start for certain Open categories.
Changing bicycles during a race is prohibited without authorization from race officials and/or the PGO.

For distances of 500 km, 1000 km and 2500 km :
Each participant must take a minimum cumulative rest period of 4 hours every 36 hours of racing (meaning no more than 32 hours of movement every 36 hours).
Compliance with this time limit is monitored via the GPS tracker.
The official stop time is displayed in the event standings as well as in the RAS mobile app.
A violation results in disqualification.

A. race bib
To pick up your order from race bib , you must present:the Miles Republic QR code,
license or medical certificate,
an identity document,
information on repatriation insurance.
The " race bib " must be worn at all times and be visible throughout the entire event.
The Organizer may conduct inspections.
B. Drop bags
Drop bags are bags provided by the organizers at the pick-up location at race bib.
Only these bags are allowed, and there is a weight limit of 10 kg per drop bag.
Drop bags allow participants in the 2,500- and 1,000-kilometer races to access their personal belongings at support stations designated by the organizers.
Drop bags must be prepared and turned in to the organizers before the start of the race.
Each drop bag is then transported by the organizers to the specified Basecamp .
If a drop bag is not used by a participant on a Basecamp, it will be sent directly to the finish line without passing through the other aid stations.
Number of drop bags
2,500 km: 2 drop bags allowed (usually at aid stations 2 and 4)
1000 km: 1 drop bag allowed
500 km: none
300 km: none
C. Luggage
A service to transport bike luggage from the start to the finish is available (for an additional fee).
All participants may check in one personal bag at the starting point, with a maximum volume of 50 L and a maximum weight of 30 kg.
D. Bag Pickup Upon Arrival
The bags are returned by the Organization according to the planned logistics.
Early access is not available.
Any bag not claimed upon arrival may be returned at the participant's expense (minimum of âŹ30 plus shipping costs).

Certificate of good health and physical fitness
All participants certify that they are in good health, fit to take part in an intense endurance event, whatever the distance, with no medical contraindications (cardiac, respiratory or other), and that they are fully aware of the physical and environmental risks associated with this type of adventure.
Participants acknowledge that they are taking part at their own risk, and undertake to adopt a cautious attitude suited to their physical abilities throughout the event.Anti-Doping Clause
Each participant hereby declares on his or her honor, at the time of registration and throughout the duration of his or her participation:not be subject, at the time of registration and participation, to any disciplinary or medical sanction related to an anti-doping rule violation issued by the AFLD, the UCI, or any other competent national or international authority;
undertake to comply with all anti-doping rules in force;
accept that in the event of a false declaration or breach of contract, the organizer reserves the right to refuse entry, cancel participation or invalidate the result, without any reimbursement.
The organizer may, at any time, verify participantsâ compliance using public lists of suspended athletes (AFLD, UCI, etc.) and reserves the right to exclude any participant in the event of a proven violation, without prior notice.
Random doping tests may be conducted at Race Across Series events. Each participant agrees to submit to such tests without restriction or objection, and to cooperate fully with the authorities or accredited organizations responsible for conducting them.
Participants must be 18 years of age or older.
An exception may be granted for minors participating as part of a team, provided that a parent or legal guardian is a member of the team and that supporting documentation is provided.
Participants must provide a medical certificate or a valid license stating âno contraindications to competitive cycling.âThe certificate must be less than one year old at the time of the test.
Documents must be submitted electronically via the Dokeop platform.
Medical examinations may be conducted by the Organizer

To participate in the 1,000-km and 2,500-km events, you must have prior cycling experience and be able to ride independently for several days.
Minimum experience required:1,000 km: Have completed a race or adventure of at least 300 km in less than 24 hours within the last 12 months, or have equivalent Race Across experience (300, 500, 1,000, or 2,500 km).
2,500 km: Have completed a race or adventure of at least 500 km in less than 48 hours within the last 12 months, or have equivalent Race Across experience (500, 1,000, or 2,500 km).
When you register, you must list your most significant long-distance experiences.
We may ask you for additional information or supporting documents.
Your registration is subject to our approval no later than 30 days before the event.
If your experience is deemed insufficient, we may suggest a more suitable format or decline your participation.
Any false statement may result in the rejection of your registration or your disqualification.
Your registration and payment do not constitute final confirmation of your participation in the 1,000 km and 2,500 km events.

Penalties & Disqualifications
Immediate disqualification (Cat. 1): unauthorized assistance, drafting outside the team, support vehicle, refusal to undergo doping control, failure to assist a person in danger, lack of mandatory safety equipment, serious misconduct.
Time penalties (Cat. 2): straying from the course, missing frame plate (2h), littering (4h), missing comfort pack equipment (4h), unregistered media vehicle (12h).

The participant acknowledges :
The extreme risks of ultra-distance
The need for complete autonomy
The obligation to assist others in danger
Respect for volunteers, organizers and other riders
Entries: compulsory briefing, wearing and returning of GPS, compliance with regulations, attendance at ceremonies, compulsory accident insurance.

Any participant who crosses the finish line within the time limit (taking into account any penalties) and in compliance with the rules is considered a Finisher.
If one or more members of a team drop out, the remaining participants in the race may continue and qualify as finishers, but the team will not be eligible for a spot on the podium.
Similarly, if a team does not start with a full lineup, it will not be eligible for a spot on the podium.
The decision to accommodate a last-minute change in category (from duo to solo, quartet to duo, etc.)âmade less than 21 days before the eventâis at the discretion of the Organizing Committee.
The Organization reserves the right to amend the rankings up to 60 days after the event if circumstances indicate a violation of the rules.

A. Health protocol
In the event of a pandemic or specific public health measures, the Organizer will implement a dedicated protocol.
Admission to the event may be contingent upon the presentation of health-related documents (e.g., health pass, negative test result).
Participants will be notified by email.
B. OGM (Operational Management Post)
The PGO number is provided for each event and verified during the mandatory equipment check.
The PGO centralizes calls, coordinates emergency response efforts, and serves as the liaison with the relevant agencies.
Each participant must save this number in their phone before departure.
C. Highway code
Each participant agrees to comply with the Traffic Code and local traffic regulations.
Failure to comply with these rules may result in immediate disqualification.

Insurance
To participate in a Race Across Series event, you must have valid personal accident insurance for the entire duration of the event, covering at a minimum medical expenses, search and rescue costs, evacuation costs, and repatriation costs in the event of an accident, depending on the country or destination where the event is held.
You can purchase this insurance from the provider of your choice orthrough our partner. You are responsible for purchasing the policy and verifying the coverage.
This insurance covers situations resulting from an accident, not simply abandonment.
The FFC license alone does not satisfy this requirement.
No later than 30 days before the event, you must provide the name of your insurer, your policy number, and the coverage period.
The Organizerâs liability insurance is separate from your individual insurance.
â ïž The organization is in no way liable for participantsâ equipment (bicycles and/or personal belongings) in the event of theft, loss, or damage caused by a third party or by the participant themselves.Each participant acknowledges that they assume full responsibility and agrees to purchase appropriate personal insurance, if necessary.
Withdrawal
If you have to withdraw, you must notify the PGO by phone.
You must return the GPS to Basecamp , at the finish area, or by mail as soon as possible (otherwise, you will be charged âŹ250, including tax).
Repatriation
In the event of withdrawal or an accident, the Organization will not cover the cost of repatriation. Participants must return on their own, ask family members for help, or arrange for repatriation through their insurance.

Your registration is processed through the MILES REPUBLIC platform and implies acceptance of the Terms and Conditions and the Race Across Series rules.
Cancellation, Rescheduling, and Changes
Refund (after deducting a âŹ30 administrative fee):
50% for up to 4 months,
25% between 4 and 2 months,
0% for less than 2 months.
Changes to the distance or category for the same event are permitted up to 30 days before the event: âŹ30 administrative fee + any price difference.
The REPORT option, available only at the time of registration, allows you to transfer your registration to another event this year or to the same event next year up to 30 days before the event.
Legal Terms and Conditions
All complaints must be submitted via the contact form within 8 days of the event.
The Organizer may, particularly in the event of force majeure or for safety reasons, modify, suspend, postpone, or cancel the event.
By participating, you agree to the provisions regarding image rights, trademarks, and the protection of your personal data as set forth in the rules.
